Bespoke Portfolio Service

We understand that some of your clients will have complex financial planning needs that require bespoke investment management. Our Bespoke Portfolio Service (BPS) brings a tailored approach to investing with our expert team creating a portfolio that meets your client’s individual needs and circumstances.

How we can help

BPS: A personal approach

Not every client is the same. That’s why our Bespoke Portfolio Service is designed for clients who want a portfolio constructed to meet their specific needs and objectives.

Working with you

As an adviser, you will partner with one of our dedicated investment managers. Your manager will craft the optimal portfolio mix, leveraging our centralised investment process that draws upon the analysis and research expertise of our 60+ in-house team.

Security as standard

Thanks to InvestBM, our secure online portal, you can monitor the progress of your client’s portfolio safely and securely.

Keeping you informed

We understand how important it is for you and your clients to be kept up to date on how their investments are performing. That’s why we’ll send you a portfolio valuation to share with your client every three months, or on request.

Annual tax report

As part of the Bespoke Portfolio Service, we’ll produce a tailored ‘tax pack’ for you once a year to assist in the completion of your client’s annual tax return.

The benefit of bespoke

With over 400 investments across 14 sectors on our buy list, our approach to investing is global in scope and outlook.

Collaborating with you, we’ll calibrate investments for your client’s long-term financial objectives, tax considerations, and income requirements. The sustainability objectives of your clients are important to us, and our Bespoke Portfolio Service gives our investment managers the flexibility to construct portfolios which aim to exclude companies that do harm but also include those that are contributing to a more sustainable future.

The BPS difference

Our Bespoke Portfolio Service (BPS) is built on partnership: we’ll work with you to understand your client’s goals and needs and create an investment portfolio tailored to them. By managing the portfolio, we’ll also reduce your administration workload, giving you more time to focus on the wider aspects of your client’s financial planning.

Your questions answered

What is the application process?

What is the application process?

We try to make the application process as easy as possible. There are typically three stages:

1. We hold an initial meeting for you to introduce your client to their dedicated investment management team and to discuss our investment proposal. Once you and the client are satisfied the proposal meets the client’s requirements, the client will be asked to complete an application pack.

2. Upon receiving the completed pack, we start the account opening process and send the client a welcome letter. The client’s money will be transferred to Brooks Macdonald either from an existing provider or from a bank account. If the money is coming from an existing provider, we will liaise with them to ensure an efficient transfer.

3. Once the transfer is complete, a completion letter will be sent to both you and the client, which includes an access code for our online portal.
