Middlesex CCC and Brooks Macdonald hold Press day at Lord's

On 17th January,  Middlesex County Cricket Club and Brooks Macdonald celebrated the launch of their recently announced three year sponsorship agreement by inviting members of the Press and other guests to Lord’s to watch the Middlesex cricketers in pre-season training in the MCC Cricket Academy.

Having been shown how it should be done, certain guests decided that they too would like to face some ferocious bowling MCCC and Brooks Macdonal Press Dayfrom the likes of Steven Crook, Anthony Ireland and Gurjit Sandhu in the Lord’s nets.

Far from showing the journalists mercy, the Middlesex squad set about their task with relish and an array of bouncers and in-swinging yorkers ensued and many stumps were sent flying.  A short video clip of the action evidences some of the more interesting moments.

Cricketworld were also on hand to interview key personnel from both Brooks Macdonald and Middlesex CCC (highights can be seen in the video on the left).

Whilst the ferocious onslaught continued, the other guests were treated to a tour of Lord’s  including the Pavilion and media centre, with Managing Director  of Cricket, Angus Fraser (pictured below, right)  as their tour guide.Gus Fraser

Thankfully, whilst the odd bruise, and a bit of dented pride were picked up along the way, the wannabe cricketers survived their experience and then joined up with the tour party to relax and chat through their experiences over lunch with the squad, senior executives from Brooks Macdonald and members of the MCCC’s Executive Board.

Our thanks go to Middlesex County Cricket Club for making the day such a huge success.
