Denly scoops Player of the Month whilst Brooks employees raise money for Shooting Star CHASE
Player of the Month
Middlesex County Cricket Club's Joe Denly was the worthy recipient of the May 2012 Brooks Macdonald Player of the Month Award. Angus Fraser (pictured middle below) collected the award on Joe's behalf along with Simon Wombwell, CEO of Brooks Macdonald Funds (pictured left) and Chris Macdonald CEO of Brooks Macdonald Group (pictured right).
With a First-Class average of 131.00 and a List-A average of almot 60, Denly's form has been nothing short of exceptional. In this interview in the MCC Cricket Academy at Lord's Cricket Ground, he discusses life so far at Middlesex CCC and talks about how his season is shaping up.
Employees Shake Buckets for Shooting Star CHASE
On Thursday 14th June a number of Brooks Macdonald employees donned bright pink t-shirts and wielded collection buckets at the Middlesex vs. Surrey game to raise money for Middlesex CCC's official partner charity - Shooting Star CHASE- a children's hospice service, supporting local families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th birthday.
The gang raised a total of £1077.36, an amount which could pay for two days out for siblings, enabling 25-30 brothers and sisters to enjoy therapeutic activities, share feelings and have fun together.
Senior Community Fundraiser, Katy Jones said of the evening: “It turned out to be quite a long, cold and wet evening, but everyone was in high spirits and I was thrilled to have such a wonderful group of volunteers helping.”
