Social responsibility

As a listed company, our employees and clients are able to invest in the company through share ownership and are therefore invested in the success of the business. The trust of our stakeholders is integral to the achievement of long term growth, so we always strive for honesty and openness. Treating customers fairly is at the core of our business model. We offer a fee-based service and provide sufficient, clear information so that clients can make reasoned decisions.

Our standards are maintained with appropriate encouragement and sharing of best practice. Co-ordinated and consistent internal communication ensures that all employees understand the mission, goals, values and procedures of the company. This company culture allows better co-ordinated action and empowers employees. Our training programme, which includes study support for industry exams and personal development, supports their goals.

Brooks Macdonald believes in social responsibility and we believe that we can make a more effective difference by focussing our support on a smaller number of charities and schools.

We have a green committee made up of employees who co-ordinate initiatives and activities aimed at meeting our corporate commitment to reduce our "carbon footprint", for example, we recycle old computers through Computer-Aid, a charity which recycles and distributes IT equipment to schools throughout Africa.
